Keith Camacho

Faculty-In-Residence - De Neve AB

Keith L. Camacho is an Associate Professor in the Asian American Studies Department, the Senior Editor of Amerasia Journal, and a Faculty-in-Residence at the Office of Residential Life. As a cultural historian, he has published widely on the topics of empire, gender, indigeneity, militarism, and war in Asia and the Pacific Islands. Keith has also held various research appointments at the Australian National University, the University of Canterbury, the University of Guam, and the University of Illinois. He is an award-winning researcher and teacher, as well as an activist committed to decolonization and demilitarization in Oceania and elsewhere.

Keith also loves to eat all kinds of food, especially spicy, saucy dishes! Whenever he gets a chance, he explores the many restaurants, food trucks and home-cooked meals that Los Angeles has to offer. One day, he claims, the producers for Food Network’s Iron Chef will invite him to serve as a judge.
