Diverse Admit Welcome Program Student Intern
First Year Experience and Campus Life support student organizations in executing programs that welcome newly admitted bruins to campus during Bruin Day. The DAWP Student Intern plays a key administrative and support role in fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for student organizations and admitted students to UCLA. The intern will serve as a liaison to student organizations, provide resource connections, and maintain up-to-date program documentation. This role is ideal for students interested in developing skills in event planning, communication, DEI work, and organizational management, while actively contributing to the DAWP mission.
Key Responsibilities
Student Organization Engagement:
- Respond to inquiries, facilitate resource connections, and ensure student organizations are supported in their event and programmatic needs.
- Contact student organizations to remind them of deadlines and help them adhere to programmatic procedures
Resource Coordination:
- Connect student organizations with campus resources and facilitate introductions to key contacts as needed.
- Keep track of available resources, ensuring they are effectively utilized to support admits.
Documentation and Records Management:
- Update DAWP documents, including historical records, contacts, forms, and resource guides, to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Maintain program materials, event histories, and records for each academic year to support continuity and planning.
General Administrative Support:
- Assist with scheduling, meeting coordination, and communication tasks as directed by the Program Coordinator.
- Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance program processes and inclusivity initiatives
Learning Outcomes
- Gain hands-on experience in event planning and student engagement.
- Develop administrative and organizational skills essential to program management.
- Enhance communication abilities through active coordination and collaboration with student organizations.
- Build knowledge of campus resources and support systems for diverse student populations.
Qualifications
- Current UCLA undergraduate student with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) is preferred.
Other Considerations
For this position, candidates must have a 2.3 minimum cumulative GPA at the time of application, hire, and/or rehire (beginning of Fall Quarter of each academic year).
Successful candidates must maintain full-time student status (12 units per quarter) during time of employment.

This position spans from December through May.
How much you will get paid
Pay is $17.60/hour and follows Student 2 classification.
We will offer 10 hours/week, minimum 7 hours/week.
