Our move-in team is here to make the transition smooth and stress-free, offering support with everything from unpacking vehicles to finding your way around campus. Tuesday, September 15th

  • 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM - TBA Training in Courts
  • 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM - Lunch with RAs + Court Tour + Break
  • 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Building Prep Shift
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM - TBA Bash!

Wednesday, September 16th - Saturday, September 19th

  • Move-in shifts at various times. Report to your shift location to check-in and complete your shift.

Meals

University Apartments North: Meals will begin with breakfast on Thursday September 10. All meals will be in Residential restaurants and accessed with your Bruincard. Your last meal will be dinner on Sunday, September 13.

Hill: Meals will begin with dinner on Monday, September 14th. All meals are in Residential restaurants and accessed with your Bruincard. You will have access until your meal plan starts. (Note, UAN residents supporting Hill Move in will have a meal plan until dinner on Saturday, 9/19.)

Building Prep

On Tuesday, Hill TBAs will engage in building preparation to help get the Hill ready for the academic year!

Tuesday, September 15th

  • Building prep day will consist of a Court Tour, Lunch with an RA Pod, and building prep support with the same RA pod. There is a small break so be sure to agree upon a meeting location and time with your RA after you return.
  • Once they are complete, they will head to the Office of Residential Life in their court to support the Court Leads with various tasks and then to eventually check out of their shift. Check out locations:

UCLA’s Housing & Hospitality Services uses an online IBM Maximo-based work-order portal where residents log in to submit maintenance requests, choose a classification and location, describe the issue, and have it routed based on priority with specified response times.

UCLA Store & Hill Top Shop

Website & Hours

The UCLA Store is located in Ackerman Union, it offers everything from textbooks, school supplies, and electronics to UCLA apparel and gifts. 

The Hill Top Shop, conveniently located on the Hill, is perfect for quick runs. It offers snacks, toiletries, and small dorm essentials—especially handy when you don’t want to leave the residential area.

Both stores accept BruinCard for easy payment!

Move in Support

True Bruin Ambassadors

True Bruin Ambassadors play a vital role in making Move-in week a welcoming experience for new and returning students at UCLA. They greet Bruins with enthusiasm, assist with moving belongings, and offer guidance on navigating their new home and campus.

Resident Assistants (RAs)

Resident Assistants are crucial in fostering a supportive and inclusive living environment for UCLA students. During move-in, RAs help students settle into their community, answer questions, and provide information about campus resources. 

Residential Life Staff and Faculty

Oversee the move-in process each day to ensure everything runs smoothly. They manage logistics, coordinate with staff, and address any issues that arise. Their leadership ensures that students and their families experience a seamless transition into campus life, setting a positive tone for the academic year ahead and maintaining a safe and supportive residential environment.

Housing

The Housing team is dedicated to making move-in as efficient and organized as possible. They handle the intricate details of room assignments, encoding keys, and coordination of move-in schedules. Their coordination, planning, and problem-solving ensure that all Bruins have a smooth start to their UCLA experience.
