True Bruin Ambassadors ensure a vibrant start at UCLA, guiding residents and their families, delivering carts, managing elevators, and boosting spirits. They foster excitement and warmth as the first connection to campus life.

In addition to providing support, True Bruin Ambassadors will gain valuable leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while forming lasting connections and contributing to a welcoming campus environment.

The True Bruin Ambassadors program is open to all Hill and University Apartments residents looking to support move in, have early access to their Fall assignments, and promote the True Bruin Values of the university. What you'll do

Under the supervision of Resident Directors, True Bruin Ambassadors will perform the following tasks:

Attend Training

  • Hill training will be Monday, Sept 16th 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
  • Gayley Heights & Southwest training will be Friday, Sept 13th 6 - 9 PM.
  • Westwood Hills training will be Sunday, Sept 15th 6 - 9 PM.

Cart Management

  • True Bruin Ambassadors must complete 3-5 cart management shifts that will range from 2-3 hours.
  • Guide students and families from their vehicles to their new room or apartment to help ensure flow of traffic during move in.
  • Manage and support cart inventory.
  • Maintain elevator flow and address any further guest questions once they are moved in.

Building Prep

  • Assist Resident Assistants & Apartment Resident Assistants with door decs and passive boards to prepare buildings and floors.
  • Hill True Bruin Ambassadors will have one designated  building prep shift.
  • All UA True Bruin Ambassadors will complete building prep as needed during cart management shifts.

Compensation

  • Move into your housing assignment early at no additional charge.
  • Meals on shift days and snacks during your shift.
  • Receive a True Bruin Welcome T-Shirt.

True Bruin Welcome Events (Optional)

  • Volunteer to support additional True Bruin Welcome events for additional perks!
